How to know the source of neck and shoulder problems.
The entire shoulder girdle, composed of the shoulder blades and upper arm, article at a single spot…the acromioclavicular joint. This allows for a huge range of motion and surprising strength.
Think about it. Bodybuilders can lift enormous amounts of weight, say in a lateral dumbell raise, and the arms don’t disconnect from the body!
The problems arise, however, when the nerves in the neck, that form the brachial plexus, sometimes get pinched. When this occurs, the muscles of the rotator cuff (4 muscles that hold the upper arm in the shoulder joint) biomechanical issues arise which leads to injury.
